Contemporary listening experiences allow music to elevate or redefine our current disposition during times of crisis. Inspired by songs dealing with change and loss, This Is Not A Music Video aims to illustrate this essence through a daily exploration of type, motion and collage. The series of kinetic posters simultaneously functions as a visual diary in quarantine, a living record of evolving moods, as well as a progressive transformation of sound to visuals. Re-iterating the seeking of self-reflection as its purpose, the series contains 12 kinetic posters composed over the course of 12 days. Made and inspired by music, the typographic and collage based animations mimic the disorderly progression of emotions seen within different stages of dealing with the loss of: a relationship, a person, a habit, or the self.
